This high-performance particle image velocimetry system features an Oxford Lasers Firefly diode laser with integrated lightsheet optics, a compact PIV camera with optics and a PC running VidPIV, our intuitive PIV software.

The simplePIV system is perfect for small budget or educational purposes. It features a high-quality PIV camera and full specification PIV software with industry-standard algorithms. VidPIV Foundation features an intuitive tree-based interface that allows you to quickly develop your measurement algorithm and automate the process of data analysis.

The PIV camera is capable of capturing 6 pairs of images per second (enough for many applications) and can capture at higher rates with lower resolution.

Oxford Lasers new Firefly laser is is fully software controlled with multiple pulse operation and pulse repetition rates up to 100Hz (ideal for high speed imaging). The IP65 case (and underwater upgrade option) allows you to put the laser wherever it fits your experiment without worry. What's more, we offer an upgrade scheme for the laser (when purchased as part of an simplePIV system). If you decide later that you would like a more powerful laser to look at larger areas or faster flows than the system is capable of, we will buy the Firefly laser back from you at an attractive price.
