When capturing images for particle sizing, it’s often likely that the images of the particles are out of focus. Out of focus particles look larger than they actually are, and this needs to be taken into account when producing a particle size distribution. Oxford Lasers Visisize software is able to detect out of focus particles and knows what size they would be if they were to be in focus.
This means that we are able to produce an accurate particle size distribution at a faster rate than if no focus correction was carried out, since the out of focus particles would have to be discarded otherwise.
Easy Calibration
A Visisize system comes with a calibrated lens, specified to match the particle size range that you want to measure. The calibration is traceable back to various particle size standards, and can easily be checked. When you set up your sizing system, all you have to do is select the correct calibration file for your chosen magnification, and the system is ready to collect accurate measurements.
