The NEO series of frequency doubled Nd:YAG lasers are the workhorses of the PIV technique. The NEO range of dual head particle image velocimetry lasers are designed to offer users high performance in terms of reliability and specification. The laser heads are all machined from a solid block of aluminium and beam combination optics are mounted on a rigid, thermally annealed gauge plate to ensure that complete alignment is maintained. The stable resonators generate output beams, which are spatially very smooth, allowing for the creation of uniform light sheets.
