Sometimes it's hard to find a system that does exactly what you want. Our custom and specialist PIV systems can be configured by our technical experts to meet exactly your requirements.

Two or Three color Particle Image Velocimetry

Collect more detailed information about an event with several cameras and lasers. This is particularly useful where you want to measure complex multi-phase flows and flame and combustion events.

Combined PIV / particle sizing / spray patternation systems

If you need to measure more than one set of parameters, we can provide systems that allow several different measurements to be performed using one package.

Micro PIV Systems

Unlike traditional PIV, micro-PIV relies on illuminating the entire volume of the fluid being investigated. The plane of interest is then chosen with a narrow depth-of-focus microscope. Fluorescent particles are used to eliminate unwanted reflections from the walls of the experiment and to help improve resolution.

As standard, the system comprises: microscope; digital camera; frequency doubled, dual pulse Nd:YAG laser; lighsheet optics; computer and software. If you've already got a suitable microscope, we can integrate it into the system - contact us for more details.
