Welding diagnosis and analysis is often made easier with a high-speed movie of the process as it is happening. The Firefly laser, part of an Oxford Lasers VisiWeld system can run up to 10kHz, meaning that high-speed movies can be captured of the welding process when used with a high-speed video camera.
The integrated focussing optic within the laser allows the output beam pattern to be tuned to match the area that is being imaged and the high-power laser diode means that the light from the welding process is effectively extinguished.
