A laser micromachining system is very sensitive to all sorts of vibrations and temperature changes. A micrmomachining facility that experiences temperature changes throughout the day, or vibration can wreak havoc on the quality of the features that you can produce.
All Oxford Lasers laser micro machining systems, from the benchtop Alpha, to the multi-beamline J series, include a granite base for ultimate stability.
The granite base isolates the laser, optics and workpiece from vibration and prevents temperature changes from affecting the alignment of the system. This means that our systems can offer the most repeatable laser drilling, cutting, milling, scribing and marking available. And of course, repeatable machining means less set-up and alignment time, less wastage and therefore lower running costs.
