Advanced Laser Micro-Machining R&D System

The E-Series is designed to make your laser micro-machining R&D as simple as possible. With a full range of lasers and accessories, the E-Series is the ideal tool for research requiring laser micro-drilling, micro-cutting and micro-milling of the highest quality. E Series laser micromachining systems combine flexibility with very high accuracy and stability.

The E series can be fitted with a wide range of high performance DPSS lasers to ensure that the laser matches the process required. With the correct choice of laser almost any solid material can be machined with very high accuracy.

The wide range of accessories that can be fitted to the system allow it to be configured for laser micro-drilling, micro-cutting, micro-milling, marking, scribing, dicing etc. Hence if your needs evolve as your research progresses, the system can be upgraded to allow unanticipated tasks to be undertaken.

For laser micro drilling, a proprietary very high accuracy trepanning head is fitted. This allows high speed micro-drilling of very small holes with great accuracy and good taper control. The hole diameter can be selected simply by changing the settings on the computer.

The vibration isolated granite table ensures ultimate stability for maximum repeatability in the features you machine. Oxford Lasers' advanced CNC controller means that you can go straight from a CAD model to machining the part, all within a single interface. The on-axis vision system allows inspection of the parts as you are manufacturing them, and aids alignment.

Options and upgrades available include: increased travel stages (up to 450mm X-Y and 150mm Z), additional rotation axes, Air-bearing stages, trepanning systems, taper control, galvo scanner, auto-focus and auto-alignment, height/depth sensors, additional chuck options, temperature stabilisation, fume extraction and a high-resolution off-axis camera system.
