Oxford Lasers experienced support engineers install and support lasers and systems in the field. In most cases, the laser systems are pre-accepted at our factory with a documented check-list of mandatory specifications. The systems are then shipped and installed by our technicians at your facility.
At the final installation, there is a system sign-off with extensive operator training.
Installation Requirements
Preparing your site in advance is the best way to ensure trouble-free installation. You should receive a Pre-Installation Guide after ordering your system. This document will help you prepare your laboratory before the arrival of the system you ordered. If you haven’t received it or if you have additional questions, please call our Technical Support Group.
Things to consider prior to installation:
- Is there sufficient access to move the laser system to the laboratory?
- Are there any floors or gantries that will not withstand the weight of the system passing over them (the granite base in our larger micromachining systems can weigh up to 1000kg)
- Is there sufficient power/water/fume extraction available
- Imaging systems (except those with proper enclosures) require a laser-safe room to protect others from inadvertent exposure. We can advise on requirements and supply interlocks if necessary.
