Analyse complex flows in air and water
Key benefits
- Highly cost effective
- Turn-key system
- Easy to use
- Easy to setup
- Intuitive, tree based software
High-performance turn-key particle image velocimetry systems with an Oxford Lasers Firefly diode laser; a compact PIV camera with optics; and a PC running VidPIV, our intuitive PIV software.
Intuitive Software
Even though these systems are designed with limited budgets in mind, they feature powerful VidPIV sofware with its intuitive tree-based interface and industry standard algorithms.
The LR-12 PIV system features a 1.3 megapixel camera capable of capturing 6 pairs of images per second, whilst the LS-15 system offers 15 (2 megapixel) image pairs per second. Because these systems feature our fully sealed diode laser*, it is possible to use the system in places where more sensitive Nd:YAG lasers are not suitable (e.g. underwater). In all cases, these cameras can be upgraded to higher resolutions or framerates. Please contact us to find out how we can help.
Suitable for a wide range of measurements
The LR and LS series of PIV systems are suitable for a wide range of applications. The pulsed diode laser allows measurements in air and water flows up to 40m/s (subject to suitable seeding particles).
Ideal for water flows
With the waterproofing upgrade, the Firefly laser is fully submersible (up to 1m), which makes experimental set-up much simpler – you only need a window on one side of your water tank because the laser can be put in tank.
