VidPIV is a fast-evolving, visual programming language for Particle Image Velocimetry combining complete control of the analysis and, next-generation algorithms (including Ultra PIV resolution) and ease of use. Oxford Lasers offers simple particle image velocimetry foundation software which can be upgraded to include Ultra and 3D PIV analysis. The software works well with both standard and high speed (time-resolved) systems.
PIV Software Tree
The user builds an analysis tree by choosing combinations of processing nodes (e.g. cross-correlation, particle tracking) then filtering, reprocessing (e.g. adaptive correlation), post-processing and data extraction operations.
Operations can be applied in any logical order and the tree can be probed instantly at every stage. It is even possible to use different analysis techniques on the same images, in the same project, to investigate different algorithms.
The whole tree structure can simply be “read” so that the professor can check the student’s work or the researcher can test different analyses. The whole analysis, raw data, and results are stored in a single file, so that there is never a danger of forgetting how you did the analysis, or image files being separated from the results.
