Industrial sieves are used to ensure ingredients are free from contaminants. The design and performance of these systems determines the efficiency of the production process.
Using FireFLY lasers, scientists’ have imaged the flow of material through the pores of these sieves. By understanding the process and the complex interaction / hydrodynamic that occurs, engineers design, build and optimize these systems to run at greater efficiencies in the production processes and removal of the contaminants.
